Privacy Policy
Effective date: [date]. Version [1.0].
1. Who we are
Recover Royalties (the "Service", at recoverroyalties.com) is operated by MRS Development Company, 27633 Long Cliff Lane, Spring, Texas 77386, United States ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Questions: [privacy@recoverroyalties.com].
2. What the Service does
You upload royalty statements and agreements. The Service reads them automatically, using software and artificial intelligence, and shows an overview of your income, the rates your payors applied compared with your agreements, and possible discrepancies. Results are our interpretation, not legal, tax or financial advice (see the Terms of Use).
3. Data we collect
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Name, email address, role (artist, songwriter, producer, manager, lawyer, broker), company, the people you invite | You |
| Terms acceptance | Which version of the Terms of Use you accepted, when, and from which IP address | Your sign-up |
| Uploaded content | Royalty statements, agreements and related files, and what they contain: names, payee and account numbers, addresses, song titles, amounts, contract terms - including information about other people named in them (co-writers, payees, counterparties) | You |
| Results | Your dashboard, findings and reports produced from your content | Our systems |
| Feedback | Comments you send with the Feedback button, with the page you were on | You |
| Usage and security records | Sign-in times, IP address, browser and device type, pages used, errors, processing times, security events - kept in our own systems, with no third-party analytics or tracking | Your use of the Service |
Please do not upload documents the Service does not need, such as passports, tax documents or bank details. Files that are not royalty statements, agreements or related documents are deleted as soon as they arrive. If your files contain such information, we do not use it.
4. How we use your data
- To provide the Service: read your content, produce your dashboard, findings and reports, and show them to you and the people you invite.
- To run your account: sign-in, invitations and notices (for example, before your data is deleted).
- To improve the Service: fix errors, improve how documents are read, and act on feedback.
- To keep the Service secure: prevent unauthorised access, abuse and automated scraping.
- To meet legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell or rent your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your uploaded content to train artificial intelligence models.
5. Who can see your data
- You, and the people you invite to your account. You can remove an invited person at any time.
- Our systems process your data automatically. Our authorised personnel can access it only to operate, secure and support the Service; every access is logged.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf under written terms that require them to protect it and use it only for us: Google Cloud (hosting, storage, sign-in; United States); Anthropic, PBC (artificial intelligence that reads uploaded documents; United States) [under terms that do not allow training on your data / zero data retention]; [email provider] (account emails).
- Authorities, when the law requires it; and a buyer or successor of the business, who would be bound by this policy.
No other user of the Service can see your data.
6. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in the United States, in Google Cloud's [us-central1] data centres. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.
7. How long we keep your data
- While your account is in use, we keep your account, content and results.
- If no one signs in to your account for 24 months, we delete your account, content, results and reports. We email the account owner about 30 days before, so you can sign in to keep it.
- You can delete your content, or your whole account, at any time in your settings; deletion is permanent.
- Deleted data is removed from our backups within 35 days. Our system logs never contain the contents of your documents.
- We keep a minimal record that a deletion took place (account number and date, with no content), the record of your terms acceptance, and security records for [12 months], unless the law requires longer.
8. How we protect your data
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; each account's data is kept separate from every other account's; sign-in uses two-factor authentication; access by our personnel is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under California or other US state laws, or the laws of your country), you may have the right to know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to certain uses. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising. To use these rights, email [privacy@recoverroyalties.com]; we will reply within [30] days and may need to confirm your identity.
If you are named in documents someone else uploaded, contact us at the same address.
10. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
11. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
12. Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above; if a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect.
